Overview:

We normally recommend that all fixing go right through the panels and into the wall material that is behind the panels, and that a spacer be used to support the panels from compressing under load from tightened screws.

Question:

We have a shower enclosure - what is the recommended way of fixing a basket onto the Mermaid board.Thanks

However if the product brand you are using/buying is the Mermaid then there is no need to use spacers as the panel is very solid. We still recommend that it is best to fix through to the substrate.
