Hello Marc We normally say that the panels need a clean flat surface to be stuck to. The Aquabord panels are very rigid and would pivot on any raised surfaces. If the wall undulates a little you may be able to compensate with using extra adhesive. If you're fitting over tiles any raised tiles would have to be knocked flat
