This is UK's largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants.  More than 8000 buyers use this service to ensure that the suppliers they use are up to standard on issues such as insurance, financial standing, H&S, Skills, and licenses.

CHAS - Assessing suppliers health and safety competence

CHAS assesses applicants for:

Health and safety policy statement;
Their organisation for health and safety;
Their specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to our buyers and to others.

Every organisation has a legal obligation to ensure that contractors working on their premises operate in a safe way and there is a need to take health and safety seriously and ensure that you have made suitable arrangements when on client’s sites. The scheme reviews and audits the health and safety policies, procedures and documentation of contractors.
